CellShare is a mobile application that creates a convenient, inexpensive and secure internet access point for data starved customers . It does this by leveraging the power of crowd-sourcing to build an organic data meta-network.  It's better than cowering in a corner for a signal, risking public WiFi networks, or rewarding carriers by paying data cap overages.

A solution that relies on software, so you can keep using your current phone. It also solves the pesky problem of paying for more data than you actually use. (Travelers: Imagine gaining access to phone/internet services when in Beijing, Rio, or San Francisco without having to buy a local sim card or purchasing an expensive international data plan from your domestic carrier.)

The market is broken down into three demographics where data starvation is most visible. First, individuals who travel internationally. Second, individuals who cannot afford standard cellular plans like the homeless and working class people. Third, businesses that want to provide their customers with access to the internet, due to the fact that access to the internet has been proven to increase how often a customer returns to a business, but cannot due to the expense and security issues.

CellShare will make money in two ways. First, we will follow companies like AirB2B by taking a percentage of the transaction between users that want to sell and buy data amongst themselves. Second, we will follow the Google example by having third party partners pay for the internet swap through the usage of a "heaven point" system. Donors of data will be given heaven points which can be used to redeem coupons, discounts and products at a "Heaven Store." Once the user redeems a coupon, they will punch in a code provided to them by CellShare (at the retail partners site or physical location) and a percentage of the transaction between the retailer and the user will be sent to CellShare.

AccelerateBaltimore will help move our business forward in several ways. First, it will enable us to underwrite an fundraiser/competition we plan on holding to test the application's Alpha version. The competition/fundraiser is called; The Great Data Giveaway Competition. The competition will be held in the District of Columbia from February 2016 to March 2016. The competition will pin local high schools against each other to see which school manages to donate the most amount of data to low income and homeless residents of DC. Second, it will provide us a network of mentors and advisers to help us navigate the rough waters of mobile application development and management. Finally, it will provide us a needed marketing platform to further our app's purpose and inject into the community an excitement of what our technology will be able to do for them.

If you complete the program and are selected to receive the $100K in follow on funding, what will your company use the $100K for? *

The $100K will be used in several ways. First, we will use the money to rent a small space to serve as the organization's headquarters. Second, we will need to hire either interns or employees to aid in the creation and maintenance of the application as it is moved into a Beta environment. Third, it will allows to move into more advanced stages where we can conduct quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing. Finally, it will allow us to begin to build a marketing program that utilizes social media, word of mouth, and other gorilla tactics (like a larger version of the "Great Data Giveaway) to garner attention by trendsetters and the public at large.
