It has been awhile since the last blog post. However, it has been a very exciting period of time for Hebe. The best place to start is the introduction of a new adviser to the team. Her name is Anna Sundborger. Anna has a background in cell biology, cell structure and biochemistry. She is currently working at the National Institutes of Health doing neuroscience research. Her role will be to provide scientific and technical advise to the company as we transition from design to building a working prototyping. In addition, we will be expanding our team and Anna has the contacts and cultural understanding of academia to lure talented scientists to our team. We are very excited about her joining the team.
The second piece of news we want to share is that Innovate 4 Health, which was the competition that inspired the creation of Hebe, selected us to be one of seven finalists. The competition asked all high schools and colleges in the state of Maryland to come up with innovative healthcare solutions. We feel honored for the opportunity. On May 20th, Hebe will attend a presentation coaching session for finalists at the University of Maryland from 6-8 pm. We are excited to talk to all of the other finalists and maybe pull some great talent to our side. We will be presenting Safi at the Maryland Health IT Innovation Day on Thursday, June 4th. We would love for you to come out and support Hebe.
The third piece of news we want to share is that Gladiator Pitch, which is a competition run by by Prince George's Community College, accepted us to be one of fifteen finalists .On May 19th, Hebe will present Safi to a distinguished group of community leaders. The event will be from 1:00-4:00 pm in Largo Student Center, Ronnie Forum. If you are in the area, we would love for you to show your support.
We are currently in the funding phase for the creation of a working prototype. The effort will need funding, so we are applying to several different programs that will allow us to create the prototype. We will keep you updated on our progress.
